Next Generation Xbox Event scheduled for May 21

Updated on Oct 6, 2013 by Guest Authors

Things are heating up for both Microsoft and Xbox as invitations were sent out by the Microsoft for the next generation Xbox even scheduled on May 21 at Redmond, Washington. The news that we all are waiting for is here and it is time to get real excited about it. The next generation Xbox is just a month away from you.

The invitations were sent out on Wednesday to the media groups that are invited at the revealing event of the next generation Xbox.

“A New Generation Revealed,” written on the invitation. “Don Mattrick and the Xbox team invite you to the Xbox campus for a special unveiling.” Mattrick is the president of Microsoft Entertainment Division that also includes Xbox.

Xbox 360 did so well for Microsoft and completely dominated the market for more than 2 years, beating the rest of the console giants – the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3.

Sony announced their new PlayStation 4 back in February and Nintendo released their new console Wii  U last year in November. So it was only Microsoft who didn’t announce their next generation Xbox up till now.

There are many things to see about the next generation Xbox, particularly after seeing what the new PlayStation 4 has to offer people with the new DualShock 4 controller and Eye Camera. PlayStation 4 embarks a much greater set of features although we still have no information about the Xbox360 features so no need to compare them right now.

The date and timing of the event is crucial and very important as well. Because 3 weeks later, the giant event of E3 gaming trade show is going to be held in Los Angeles. On the 21st May event, we will likely hear about the new hardware specs of the next generation Xbox and probably will see if it is actually named Xbox 720 or not. Anyways, if history is any indication for us, then Microsoft is going to announce big titles for their next generation Xbox at the E3 event.

What do you think of the event? Are you gearing up for the next generation Xbox arrival? Leave us comments down below to share what you feel about this event.
