Republic Wireless Motorola Defy XT for $19/month

By Tuan Do

This post brought to you by Republic Wireless. All opinions are 100% mine.

You won’t believe what I’m going to say but it is the truth. The Americans are paying for monthly cellphone bill more than the amount they pay for health insurance and groceries.

The phone bill now becomes a liability that nobody wants to take. In average, we have to pay around $50 to more than $100 for unlimited plan including talk, text and data. In the cheapest plans, providers even throttle your data speed to 2G network which is almost unusable.

Therefore, I always look for an alternative that could reduce my expenses every month. I’m spending more than $70/month for my smartphone and it is really too much.

Republic Wireless is offering a very attractive plan with no contract phone for the price of just $19/month. You will just need to pay upfront for the Motorola Defy XT which will cost $199.

This is not a new phone, however, it is still a good phone for normal users. This phone is well-known for its durability, it is dustproof, water and scratch resistent. It also features a 3.7-inch Corning Gorrila glass display and Android 2.3.7.

If you are wondering what makes the plan cheaper than others, that’s because it takes advantage of the Hybrid Wi-fi technology. When the Wi-fi network is available, your calls will be directed to the network. When you are out of Wifi range, your phone will run on Sprint 3G network.

In conclusion, this is a very affordable option for low-budget people, especially for kids and elderlies.
