iPhone 12 Pro Model Number A2341, A2406, A2407, A2408 Differences

Updated on Sep 15, 2021 by Tuan Do

Apple released two Pro models of the iPhone 12 in 2020. The iPhone 12 Pro is the smaller version but it has almost the same high-end features spotted on the Pro Max. Its pricing starts from $999 for 128GB storage and goes up to $1299 for 512GB storage.

As compared to the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro has the same physical dimensions, a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display, Ceramic Shield technology, MagSafe technology, a flat-edge design, A14 Bionic processor, Dolby Vision video capturing, IP68 water resistant, and 5G connectivity.

However, there are some notable differences that make the iPhone 12 Pro more attractive. It features a surgical-grade stainless steel chassis instead of aluminum; The premium material makes the phone look much glossier and sleeker. The most important upgrade is the camera module. The Pro version features a triple-camera setup with additional telephoto lens and LiDAR scanner. The scanner makes autofocus much faster even in low-light conditions and enables Night Mode portrait shots. Although both feature OLED displays, the one on iPhone 12 Pro has a higher typical brightness at 800 nits version 625 nits on iPhone 12. The Pro also has more RAM (6GB vs 4GB), doubles the storage, and supports the new Apple ProRAW format.

The iPhone 12 Pro can come in one of the four model numbers – A2341, A2406, A2407, and A2408. They differ in country of origin, LTE and 5G bands, and dual SIM support. Each of the model number has a wide range of part numbers specifying markets, carriers, storage (128GB, 256GB, 512GB), and color options (graphite, silver, gold, pacific blue). You can find out all the differences in this table.

Depends your carrier bands is allocated compare with same bands for your iPhone model is used. Western African most likely are using Chinese base station : Hua Wei 5G cellular station because I think it is cheaper than other providers and supported some bands only Chinese used. Basically, both carrier and iPhone is used same N bands, it works! More no of N bands both are same is used made Carrier is ease to searching your iPhone connects successfully!

So, it looks like the USA version is the one to get if you had a choice? All the bands covered by the “global version” (A2407) are also covered by the “USA version” (A2341), plus A2341 has additional ones including CDMA, additional FDD-LTE bands, and additional 5G bands?

You have to be careful with the mmWave assumption. The A2341 will support mmWave in the US in the 28GHz frequency, but when mmWave rolls out in Europe it will sit in the 26 GHz frequency (band n258).

All Mainland Chinese data traffic and apple services severs call are controls and even made a backup stored at Mainland China severs. Hong Kong and Macao Apple services severs are believes stored at Singapore and US. And all three China carrier is Chinese government running and controlled and software modify before their iPhone sales. Hong Kong version no to be modified.

    Hello there
Thanks for this. Is there a drawback you can think of to buying an A2406 or A2408 for use solely in the UK?

There is a very small risk of long term network incompatibility. Every region variant has its own modem, the software of which governs the bands in the frequency spectrum that the device can connect to. Carriers will typically optimise their service for modem software using the bands they *expect* them to use, depending on the market the device is normally sold in (as outlined above).

The usual example is band 21 on the Japanese model which is used exclusively by some Japanese carriers. So, a British carrier like EE would not normally work to optimise the modem software in model A2406 (which it would not expect to be used in its market), whereas the Japanese carrier would – and vice versa. The risk therefore is that, as Apple updates the iOS operating system and carriers update modem software in response, they only do so on models they expect to *see* in their markets.

      Hope that makes sense.

Hi, I recently bought a iPhone 12 Pro (Dual Sim) in Indonesia from a trustworthy local reseller. Since I’m a foreigner living here, I use two cellular plans. One local and one from back home. As the SIM card and phone from my country of origin broke down I’ve tried to install the eSIM from my provider back home. Only to come to the conclusion that eSIM doesn’t work for some reason. After some digging I ended up here, as the model that I’ve bought is the A2408. Is it correct that eSIM is not being supported on this particular model, the iPhone 12 Pro A2408 Dual Sim?

Physical dual SIM model doesn’t support eSIM. You have to use physical SIM cards only.

    Svp,
