Waterfield Nintendo Switch Arcade Case Review – Protect Your Switch in Style

Updated on Jan 11, 2018 by Tuan Do

Before reviewing the case from Waterfield, I was using a cheap case on Amazon to protect my Nintendo Switch. It has a lot of shortcomings, so I was very glad when I have a chance to try the premium Waterfield Nintendo Switch Arcade case. Notably, the case is handcrafted entirely in San Francisco, United States. Let’s check it out.

Overview Video

Design & Features

I was speechless when taking the Waterfield case out of the nylon bag. It looks amazing, exactly as what I expected when seeing the product image on their website. I got the unit in waxed canvas and chocolate leather. This might not look as attractive as the one in ballistic nylon and chocolate leather but I prefer the vintage look. I often toss the case into my backpack but I guess many people will wear it using the included shoulder strap.

The Waterfield case has almost the same size as other Nintendo Switch cases but you can fit a lot more inside. Apart from the main unit, Joy Cons, and some game cards, you can put in the charger, a Pro Controller or a Joy Con grip, a charger, and a Hori PlayStand. That means the whole Nintendo Switch and accessories can fit in the case; The only thing that is left out is the dock.

After removing the Joy Cons, you can slide the switch into the front pocket, then close the flap easily since it has built-in magnets. All other accessories go into the main compartment. It uses a soft plush liner, so everything is well protected.

Another nice touch is the use of the premium YKK zipper and a leather pull tab. It feels great when opening or closing the compartment since the zipper is very smooth.

Overall, the Waterfield Arcade is the best premium Nintendo Switch case you can find on the market. It comes at a hefty price but it’s totally worth it. We at TechWalls highly recommend the product.

I definitely like how this case has a more “adult” look to it… but I’m still happy with my Zelda BotW case I got :) It’s at least brown leather like this and so it looks sort of adult-ish despite the picture of Link on the front.
