I used to trust Paypal and believed it was the best online payment system on the planet, so I kept all my earnings there and didn’t withdraw even a dime. However, they have limited my account 3 times in the past year and that was truly a terrible user experience. Most recently, Paypal temporarily restricted my account access and request additional information on proof of fulfillment and purchase receipts.
It makes sense to check accounts for unusual activities as it could gain trust for both buyers and sellers. However, my account has no dispute in the past year and it is really frustrating to see them freeze my funds for no specific reason. I made a phone call to customer service and talked to their support staff but they couldn’t help resolve account limitation. Therefore, the only option is to submit all required documents and wait for their response.
Last year when my account was limited and Paypal asked me to complete identity confirmation, I had to email them a few times to send utility bills and bank statement, the average response time was 2 days. Just a week ago, I had to resolve another limitation case and they also sent me a response in 2 days. Exactly, they restored my account 50 hours after document submission. Surprisingly, they still worked on my case during weekend; I sent the documents on Friday and the case was resolved on Sunday.
According to Paypal, they often reply to emails on account limitation within 3 business days. Some cases could take longer when they request additional information but most limitations are resolved within 5 days. Therefore, the average response time of 2 days in my cases is pretty impressive. I just hope that this won’t happen again in the future.
