Elekin Folding Laptop Desk Review

A portable laptop desk is very useful furniture that I didn’t think I would ever need. I bought one years ago and got another one for my kids last year. I’ve just tested the Elekin folding laptop desk which is available on Amazon for about $35 after applying a coupon code.

The Elekin desk comes ready to use out of the box as no assembly is required. Basically, I just took it out of packaging, open the foldable legs on the bottom, then use it immediately.

Unlike my previous products which purely offer a flat desktop, the Elekin offers some extra features like a tablet or phone holder, a cup holder, and 4 USB ports. I like these features but they also take some space on the desk top, so you should check carefully, especially when you are using a large laptop. In this review, I am testing with a 13-inch laptop and it fits perfectly.

The desk also comes with 2 gifts which are a mini USB fan and a USB light. You can plug them directly to the USB ports on top; There is a USB cord underneath which should be plugged into a power source. In my opinion, the USB ports are redundant as I rarely use them. Elekin probably should remove or move them to the side of the desk.

I’m quite impressed with build quality of this desk. I am using another desk in the same price range but it feels flimsy and can collapse anytime. The aluminum legs of the Elekin desk are much sturdier and the desk surface is also significantly thicker. Therefore, I have no problem using it on the floor, on my bed, or place it on top of my desk to use as a standing desk.
