AOHI Magcube 40W Fast Charger Review – Budget Charger for iPhones

Updated on Aug 24, 2022 by Tuan Do

Since iPhone and some Android phones no longer come with a charger, we have to buy it separately. The costs add up and you might end up spending another $59 on a 35W Apple charger. Fortunately, there are some cheaper alternatives out there; For instance, the AOHI Magcube 40W can even charge faster while costing just half the price of the Apple one.

Disclosure: We received the product in exchange for the review. We spent at least a month to test the product and publish this review.

The Magcube 40W is significantly larger than the Magcube 30W charger I tested last year, however, it still features a fairly compact design with foldable prongs. Specifically, it measures 1.9″ x 0.7″ x 0.8″ and you can easily toss it into your bag, backpack, or even your pant pocket.

The Magcube has two USB-C ports so you can use it to recharge two devices at the same time. I tested it to charge my iPad and iPhone at the same time and it worked flawlessly, however, it won’t reach the maximum charging speed in this case. The Aohi charger supports up to 40W charging when we use a single port. This is good enough to fast charge my iPhone and iPad. When you plug in both of them, the charger will automatically adjust the output power of each port according to the battery levels of your devices.

There is an LED indicator to display the current charging status (Green – trickle mode, Blue – standard charging, Amber – fast charging). And of course, it has all safety features like overcharge protection, over-voltage protection, over-current protection, over-temperature protection, or over-discharge protection. I’ve used the mini version for a year and had no problem so far.

Overall, I have no doubt about the AOHI charger and I will use it in place of the Magcube mini because it can recharge my iPad and Macbook faster. I totally recommend the budget charger, you can use the promo code AOHI40WC to save 10% during checkout on Amazon.
