Samsung announces three new Windows 8 PCs under ATIV Brand

Updated on Oct 6, 2013 by Guest Authors

Samsung recently announced three new Windows 8 PCs under the ATIV brand Galaxy & ATIV Premiere event – ATIV Book 9 Plus, ATIV Book 9 Lite and the ATIV One 5 Style.

ATIV brand is a completely new lineup from Samsung focusing on exceptional design unlike other Samsung devices and providing stunning capabilities for personal computing. The new ATIV PCs shown at the event clearly suggests that Samsung is working hard in closing the gap between mobile and PC market by bring such electronic devices for the public. One other major step is the introduction of SideSync technology which allows people to easily share files between Samsung mobiles and PCs anywhere in the world.

Samsung dedicated to this new strategy is even more revealing as it introduced a new feature called HomeSync which converts PCs hard disk into a cloud server accessible only to that person. HomeSync then uses this cloud to store photos videos and other files from Samsung devices to the PC since the cloud storage is made from the hard disk of PC. This way, user can access its files anywhere and anytime they want.

A look at the specs of ATIV PCs

The first one in the series is the ATIV Book 9 Plus that packs an ultra QHD display of 3200 x 1800 resolution with 12 hour battery time. ATIV Book 9 boots up in just under 6 seconds and takes hardly 1 second to change its state from sleep to wake. This is performance like an SSD will provide on a standard PC.

Next is the ATIV Book 9 Lite that looks exactly the same as the Plus version except for the fact that it has some extra features to it. The introduction of ten point touchscreen technology and a 256GB SSD that adds to the overall value of the ATIV Book 9 Lite

The last one is the ATIV One 5 Style, an all-in-one desktop PC inheriting the design features of Galaxy and yet providing a true PC experience with its full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080p that is ideal to watch movies and videos on it. ATIV One 5 also includes the exclusive Samsung features of SideSync and HomeSync.

Beside these three PCs, Samsung also unveiled two other ATIV tablets/laptop named ATIV Q and ATIV Tab 3. ATIV Q has the technology of dual booting Windows 8 and Android at the same time. Stay tunned for more updates about the new Samsung ATIV brand
