I used to trust Paypal and believed it was the best online payment system on the planet, so I kept all my earnings there and didn’t withdraw even a dime. However, they have limited my account 3 times in the past year and that was truly a terrible user experience. Most recently, Paypal temporarily restricted my account access and request additional information on proof of fulfillment and purchase receipts.
It makes sense to check accounts for unusual activities as it could gain trust for both buyers and sellers. However, my account has no dispute in the past year and it is really frustrating to see them freeze my funds for no specific reason. I made a phone call to customer service and talked to their support staff but they couldn’t help resolve account limitation. Therefore, the only option is to submit all required documents and wait for their response.
Last year when my account was limited and Paypal asked me to complete identity confirmation, I had to email them a few times to send utility bills and bank statement, the average response time was 2 days. Just a week ago, I had to resolve another limitation case and they also sent me a response in 2 days. Exactly, they restored my account 50 hours after document submission. Surprisingly, they still worked on my case during weekend; I sent the documents on Friday and the case was resolved on Sunday.
According to Paypal, they often reply to emails on account limitation within 3 business days. Some cases could take longer when they request additional information but most limitations are resolved within 5 days. Therefore, the average response time of 2 days in my cases is pretty impressive. I just hope that this won’t happen again in the future.

It may not make sense to you, But leaving money in PayPal account isn’t something PayPal like, Cause they’re not a bank. So leaving money in their account sometimes makes them think, Is that person hidding anything from anyone? They worry about the IRS, Cause they can get audited and for them they have to be cautious with terrorism and a lot of scams going on, Their software is amazingly cautious and may cause you some losses. I got hit with a limitation may times and froze my account in the past when i used to leave money in the account.

I got the limitations problem almost two weeks now. I have submit all documents requested and yet every few days they send email requested the same documents… Those PayPal staff just doing the routine job and not really helpful…
Just wonder if the limitation issue are not lift is that any solution to get the money out?

PayPal is **** annoying. There wasn’t no suspicious activity with me. I was buying sh!t for the new school year and they seemed that as “suspicious activity” probably because I was spending a lot of money multiple times.

I got the same problem. Paypal question my transactions made. But I only do is to send the amount on the specific account. but when another user instead of sent money it return as a refund. and no my account is on limitation access.

Same thing happen to me. No money in there. Paypal are so ridiculously annoying to deal with, I tried just deleting my account to permanently resolve their issues but I can’t even do that. I can’t wait until I get my account back so I can delete it for good and delete my business account as well. Should be illegal to limit someones funds.

I believe paypal does this crap to collect intetest on our money. Once i get my money back i will NEVER use paypal again. I am about to file a class action lawsuit.
