OHWILL Kitchen Island with Extendable Dining Table Review

By Tuan Do

I have a small kitchen and the 34-sq-ft countertop doesn’t provide enough space for me to prep foods. Therefore, I needed to add a compact kitchen island and the OHWILL island with extendable dining table seems to be the perfect choice.

At just over 20 inches wide and 54 inches long in its compact form, it fits easily into most kitchens, but it can extend to more than 81 inches long when you need extra space for dining or meal prep. This is perfect for apartments and smaller homes where we don’t have enough space for both island and dining table. Besides, it offers drawers, adjustable shelves, a spice rack, a towel holder, and even a hidden compartment for a 10-gallon trash can. I don’t like putting trash inside furniture as it could lead to unpleasant smells and attach pests over time. There are built-in outlets and USB ports on top to make it easy to run small appliances or charge devices. I don’t really need outlets on the countertop since my kitchen already has plenty of accessible plugs; Sometimes foods can fall into those outlets, so you should be careful. That’s great if they could make a version without power outlets.

Assembly of the island takes a couple of hours as there are a lot of small parts. Besides, the engineered wood may not be as durable as solid wood in the long run. There are a few minor damages when I received the product. The piece is currently on sale at OHWILL for $360.
