LG V30 Model Numbers (H930DS, H930K, H931, H933, V300 S/K/L, LS998, VS996, H930G, H930, VS996, H932, US998) Differences

By Tuan Do

LG V30 is among the best Android flagships of 2017, people love the design, display, audio quality, camera, and everything else. The 3rd-generation V-series smartphone no longer has the secondary ticker display and it’s a good thing since it is just a gimmick. Now we have a nearly bezel-free display with smooth curved glass and glossy metal chassis.

Some interesting features include the 6.0″ QHD+ OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio, an IP68 certification of water resistance and dust-proofing, wireless charging, Hi-Fi video recording, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. LG still uses a dual camera setup on the back but the lenses have been upgraded; The main camera is a 16MP with f/1.6, OIS, 3-axis, laser & phase detection autofocus and the wide-angle camera has 13MP resolution with f/1.9 and no AF.

Notably, LG released two versions, which are the LG V30 and V30+; Their specifications are pretty much the same with Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM. The only difference is storage, the LG V30 has the internal storage of 64GB while that of V30+ is 128GB.

Besides, the LG V30 comes in some model numbers for different markets and carriers. We can find the LG V30 H930DS, H930K, H931, H933, V300K, V300S, V300L, LS998, H930G, H930, VS996, H932, H932PR, H932SV, and US998. Let’s see their differences.

T-mobile says the carrier unlocked version US998 will also have the 600 MHz LTE band 71.

Yes the T-Mobile version will have LTE band 71 but the model number is not confirmed yet, I believe it’s not US998.

Speaking of TMobile… US998 is also not getting band 12 (which you could argue is currently more useful than 71 given deployment)? That would suck.

So ridiculous. What is stopping companies like LG from simply having ALL the frequencies, so the phone can work on all networks? the iPhones and Motorolas can do it!

This information above is helpful thanks!

I know that any of the dual sim LG V30 phones in the list above would provide up to 4g operation, but can anyone confirm that the second sim operates on at least a 3g network. Many dual sim phones generaly have the second dual sim restricted to 2g only (and 2g is being phased out soon in my country – Australia).

I see some conflicting evidence on different websites detailing the V30 dual sim specifications.
Has anyone have hands on proof of 3g capablitly for the second sim?

    Much thanks

According to http://www.lg.com/hk_en/mobile-phone/lg-H930DS-Lavender-Violet-128GB the V30+ H930DS does not supports LTE Band 4, which is T-Mobile.

ill help out. so. without looking at phone specs n network specs etc.
boost and virgin. mobiles. both run off sprint network signals. im not sure on boost and cant precisely recall if vitgin phones are same. but both i think utiluze removeable sim cards. so are gsm structured device native to cdma network

in short with just that boostb devices. use sprint/verizon towers.

Would be nice to have also in those specs an LTE Cat of UE. Which is based on specs on gsmarena is quite different. So different that some phones are like LTE Cat9 and some are LTE Cat 16. For example V30+ H930DS Dual SIM supports only LTE Cat 9 (sometimes only 2CA are in place while carrier supports 3 or 4CA).

is the hardware the same for all ? Ex: if sprint, verizon, tmobile,at&t or u.s cellular will be unlocked and flashed with an stock V30 H930 rom will they all have the same frequencies enabled ?

I have H392 t-mobile and my panel is damaged, can i just put any V30 panel on mine or do they have different fits?
