iPhone 13 Pro Model Number A2483, A2636, A2638, A2639, A2640 Differences

Updated on Jan 30, 2023 by Tuan Do

Similar to previous years, Apple introduced two Pro versions of the new iPhone in September 2021. The iPhone 13 Pro is the smaller version with a 6.1-inch display while the 13 Pro Max has a huge 6.7-inch screen. An important selling point of the iPhone 13 Pro is its more affordable price tag starting from $999 (£949, AU$1,699) and it still offers all Pro features found on the more expensive model.

Apple has made it easy for customers as the choice between the Pro and Pro Max version now totally depends on size preference. All the design, hardware, and camera system of the 2 phones are pretty much the same, except that the Pro Max has a bigger battery and therefore, could last a few hours longer on a single charge. As compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro features a more powerful A15 Bionic chip, a smaller notch for the TrueDepth camera system, sensor-shift optical image stabilization, a larger battery, more storage, and a Super Retina XDR display with adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. The rear camera system is also enlarged as all the 3 cameras are upgraded with larger sensors and wider aperture. The camera offers advanced computational photography and cinematography features like Photographic Styles, Night mode, or Cinematic mode. Notably, for the first time, users can capture, edit, and share videos on the iPhone in Dolby Vision or ProRes codec.

This year, the iPhone 13 Pro comes in 5 different model numbers, which are A2483, A2636, A2638, A2639, and A2640. Checking the model number is very important, especially when you buy it overseas or from an unauthorized Apple Store. They have some differences in LTE and 5G connectivity, so they could affect user experience significantly. Each model number has numerous part numbers specifying the origin country, carrier, storage (128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB), and color option (Graphite, Gold, Silver, Sierra Blue, Alpine Green). Let’s check out all the differences in the table below.

Hey thanks for this, very informative.
I bought from an unauthorized dealer for the discount. I forgot to check the model number before buying and it seems I got the US model A2483 (I’m in PH). Part number is not listed here though MLQH3LL/A.

My experience with iPhone from UAE is that when you replace the SIM card face time will disappear from the phone. check before you buy. That happened to me in Turkye and UK. I don’t recommend UAE iPhone.

    iPhone 13 Pro A2636:
Listed under the above model includes 5 different countries. Does this mean I can purchase in any of these countries and use the phone in any of these counties? I mean not just roaming but having account with a carrier in the country.
Also listed under the above are part numbers for Japan and Canada. The descriptions appears to indicate any of those with part numbers for Canada cannot be used in Japan. Is this correct?
