Can the BrassCraft Stem Repair Kit Be Used on Hot Water Lines?

For standard household hot water supply lines, where the water temperature typically remains within the 120° to 130°F range, it is generally safe to use the BrassCraft. Instead, BrassCraft’s KT series ball stops, which are rated for temperatures up to 180°F, should be used. These ball valves are designed to handle the higher and more continuous temperatures of recirculating systems.
  • High-Temperature Applications: If your hot water supply line regularly exceeds 140°F, even in non-recirculating systems, the multi-turn valve and the repair kit may not provide long-term durability. In such cases, opting for a valve and repair kit rated for higher temperatures is advisable.
