Warning: Stop Ignoring Social Media Networks’ Traffic (For Beginners) Part 2

Updated on Oct 6, 2013 by Guest Authors

Welcome to part 2 of “Reasons Why Your Blog Gets 0 Visitors Every Day.”

If you have not got the chance to read part I yet, I recommend you to check it where I highlight the benefits of creating SEO-friendly content to overcome being ignored by everybody. In this article, I will walk you through the powerful advantages of Social Media networks and the motives for not neglecting them.

Creating SEO content is very beneficial and helps you build an authority profile to your blog enhancing the influence you have in the same medium. With that being said, it does not mean you should stick to one source of traffic; there are still many viable alternatives to build traffic to your blog without the need of Search Engine Optimization. And, Social Media Networks’ traffic is another reliant medium to cut through the barrier of 0 visitors every day which is rather embarrassing and worrisome if you intend to succeed in the blogosphere.

There are many social media networks that you can take advantage but I will only focus on the most popular networks that matter to you – Facebook, Twitter and StumbleUpon.

The Supremacy of Facebook

Facebook has over 955 million active users, that is nearly three times the total resident population of United States, and to no surprise it is the most popular Social Network Site in the world. You can add your space there by creating a fan page or your profile, note that these are the most important keys to entice the interest and draw attention of your readers.

Your fan page should include the information of your business so that users can have the bird’s eye view of what is your blog about. Do not expect to have thousands of Facebook likes out of thin air. Start by asking your fellow friends and relatives to like your page at least, to increase the credibility of your fan page. It would not be comfortable to a new user be the first one liking your fan page.

If you want to gain likes you have to show people that you are on Facebook. That can be done by integrating a like button in your website on every post or even in the sidebar. To do that you can install wordpress plugins, such as, Digg Digg, Sociable and ShareThis.

The Value of Twitter

Twitter is not just another social networking service; it is so powerful, having over 500 million active users. That’s a lot of opportunity. Go to Twitter, sign up and fill up with the information of your blog or any business. Your visibility and exposure play an integral role on determining an established profile and traffic to your website.

Follow people with the same interests as yours and tweet interesting facts within the range of the industry you are involved in. More and more bloggers have found Twitter as an excellent medium to draw visitors to their blogs and you should take the plunge.

The Power of StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon is a discovery engine that allows you to find news and blogs of your relevant interest and recommends web content to users. As of now, it consists of 25 million registered users. Comparatively to other social media networks, such as, Twitter and Facebook; StumbleUpon stands behind. But, that does not put its benefit at stake and how it can be helpful to your blog. StumbleUpon is all about content and the users who find it enjoyable.

Social Media Networks are great sources of traffic where most of your audience hangs out and there are a plenty of motives why you should take social media sites in a more serious way. Many internet marketers spew around the web telling thousands forms of getting traffic. You don’t need to follow all of them, instead, find ways that matter the most to you and your blog as well, and finally be the next newbie blogger to break through the barrier of zero visitors.

Last year I had a post with over 130k views only from StumbleUpon. That will be great if you have a good network there.
