iClever BoostSound BTS09 Bluetooth Speaker Review

I’ve reviewed many iClever speakers in the BoostSound series and most of them are pretty good budget options. The iClever BTS09 is the most expensive speaker in the series up till now and it is very different as well. Let’s see if it’s worth the extra money.

Unboxing

Design & Features

Unlike other BoostSound speakers, the BTS09 has a much sleeker design. We no longer see a soft-touch plastic body with the red and black color. Instead, iClever uses a much brighter silver color with aluminum stand and mesh.

This is a wireless speaker with a built-in rechargeable battery, so you don’t need to plug it in to play music. However, this is not a portable speaker by any mean. It comes in a big box; when I took it out, I was quite surprised at how big it is.

The product comes in one piece with a metal stand, a plastic body, and a front aluminum grille. The speaker has a round body, and it looks really great when I place it on a desk or on my bedside table. It even has a dimmable LED lighting on the back, the light is not really bright but it’s a nice feature to have, especially when you listen to music before sleep.

Pairing and controlling the speaker is quite easy. All buttons are placed on top while the microUSB port and a memory card slot are on the bottom. The 4,000mAh battery could power the speaker for up to 8 hours.

Audio Quality

The BTS09 is bigger than other BoostSound speakers, therefore, the sound is much more powerful. The bass is more punchy while the mids are also clearer; I also experience a wider soundstage. However, there are still some limitations here.

I can hear a hissing sound when playing music at a low volume level. And when I crank up the volume, the distortion will ruin the music experience. Having said that, the speaker is acceptable at a moderate volume level, and you totally can enjoy some music at night.

The iClever BoostSound BTS09 is a good speaker for home use. I recommend the product if you plan to use it at a close distance and don’t need to play at a high volume level.
