Google PageRank is being updated periodically again after the year 2010 with just 1 update. That’s good news as we know that Google still maintains the system and this could be a good sign to show that our sites are on the right track. Once being penalized, your site’s PR will soon be dropped to lower PR or even PR0.
Today, exactly 3 months after the last update in May, Google has just updated PageRank again. And again, I still don’t see any change on TechWalls, its rank still remains at PR3. However, PageRank of some my other sites have increased significantly from PR0 to PR2. This is understandable because reaching PR4 from PR3 is much more difficult than getting PR2 from PR0.
On the update today, I don’t see much concern and buzz on forums or big websites. It seems like webmasters don’t really care much about PageRank these days because they have another worry, that could be traffic drop due to Google Panda or Penguine updates.
Therefore, I think you shouldn’t be sad if your site couldn’t get higher ranking this time. The importance is how it is growing and how readers engage to it. Many popular websites are still struggling with PR3 or PR0, why should you worry about your low PageRank?
I am not saying PageRank is not important anymore. Yes, higher PR will bring you much more money and popularity. If Google keeps the schedule, it is very possible that the next PageRank update will happen in early November.
Let’s see what will happen then. Do you see PR increase/decrease on your site? Share your thoughts with us.
