The Funism Pokémon Partner Series Gengar & Mimikyu Figure became one of my favorites because it features 2 of my favorite Pokémon together in one dynamic scene.
Instead of having them simply stand straight up like many collectible figures, Funism puts them right in the middle of the action, and that makes the whole piece feel much more alive. And it is ready to display out of the box, so you don’t have to worry about putting parts together.
Gengar is the main character here, it is big and has a mischievous expression while launching a Shadow Ball attack. The wide grin, sticking-out tongue, sharp eyes, and energetic body language capture Gengar’s playful but chaotic personality really well. Mimikyu is placed alongside Gengar. It looks like it is joining the mischief rather than just standing there as a secondary character.
What I love most is how lively the figure looks. The effect parts around the Shadow Ball move add a lot of motion, and the scattered pieces around the base make it look like Gengar is causing a mess with its attack. That little bit of chaos fits these two Pokémon perfectly. It gives the figure a story instead of making it feel like a simple display statue.
As a fan of both Gengar and Mimikyu, I really appreciate seeing them paired in such a fun and energetic way. At the price tag of around $50, I really can’t be more satisfied with the purchase.
