Dreo PolyFan 704S Smart Pedestal Fan Review – Stay Cool and Comfortable This Summer

By Tuan Do

As the summer months approach, many are on the lookout for reliable ways to keep cool, and Dreo has delivered just in time with their latest offering, the Dreo PolyFan 704S. This is the flagship of the PolyFan series with a combination of power, quiet operation, and smart functionality. I used the PolyFan 513S and it is still my favorite pedestal fan so far. Is the 704S worth the upgrade? Let’s find out in the review.

Design and Build Quality

The Dreo PolyFan 704S still features a sleek and modern design; It is available in two colors, rose gold and matte silver, making it a stylish addition to any room decoration. The fan is easy to assemble as it took me just a couple of minutes with no extra tools. The fan’s build quality is impressive, with a solid feel that suggests durability. As compared to the 513S, the 704S looks very similar but there are some subtle changes. For instance, all control buttons are moved to the pole and there is a handle so that you can carry the fan around easier. However, the new fan looks a bit plasticky; I still prefer the look of the 513S with faux leather accents on the support bar.

The power plug is still plugged to the middle of the pole and it makes the cord look a bit messy. I hope they will move the power port to the base in the next version so that the fan has a cleaner look.

Performance and Features

The fan comes with a remote control but it can also be controlled via the Dreo app. The app allows for easy setup and connection to your WiFi network, providing more settings and customizations. Additionally, the PolyFan is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, enabling voice control for hands-free operation.

The fan offers nine different speeds and several modes to suit various needs. Normal mode runs at a constant speed, Turbo mode operates at maximum speed for quick cooling, and Auto mode adjusts the fan speed based on the room’s temperature. There is also a Natural mode, which simulates outdoor breezes with alternating speeds, and Sleep mode, which gradually decreases the speed for a restful night. The Custom mode allows users to set fan speeds for different temperature ranges or create a daily schedule. You can use the fan in Custom mode along with your air conditioner; The fan will adjust fan speed according to the temperature range and will help you save on energy bills during the summer.

The PolyFan 704S excels in delivering powerful airflow while maintaining a quiet operation. With noise levels ranging from a whisper-quiet 25 dB at the lowest speed to a modest 51 dB at the highest, it ensures minimal disruption whether you’re working, sleeping, or relaxing. Its maximum power is the same as my previous PolyFan; It can produce 882CFM of air volume and reach up to 110-ft range.

The PolyFan features omni-directional oscillation, capable of rotating 120 degrees vertically and 150 degrees horizontally. This extensive range ensures no corner of the room is left untouched. The oscillation can be controlled through the fan’s touch panel, remote control, or the Dreo app. This flexibility allows users to direct airflow precisely where it’s needed.

Beyond just cooling, the PolyFan 704S can be used to improve air circulation throughout the year. In the winter, positioning the fan across the room from a heating source can help distribute warm air more evenly. During the spring and fall, placing the fan near an open window can bring in fresh air, enhancing ventilation.

Conclusion

The Dreo PolyFan 704S is an impressive addition to any home, combining powerful performance, quiet operation, and smart functionality. Whether you need a fan for cooling during the hot summer months or for enhancing airflow throughout the year, the PolyFan 704S delivers on all fronts. If you’ve already had a PolyFan, this is not worth an upgrade because its design and features are pretty much the same.
