Samsung Galaxy S4 S-View Cover Review

By Tuan Do

Do you still remember the Samsung Galaxy S4 Flip Cover we reviewed earlier? That’s a great-looking case that doesn’t add bulk to your Galaxy S4. However, that’s still almost the same Flip Cover we saw on the Galaxy S3, nothing special here.

Apart from the Flip Cover, Samsung also introduced the official S-View Cover which is much more interesting in my opinion. This looks similar to the Flip Cover, except that there is a rectangle cut-out on the front. You will know the reason very soon.

Thanks MobileFun for providing me this product for review, you can check out their site for the Samsung Galaxy S4 case. Now, check out some images and video of the S-View Cover.

This is the video I unboxed the S-View Cover and applied the case on my Samsung Galaxy S4. It looks really awesome.

While the back of the S-View looks identical to the Flip Cover and it will replace the original back case, the front cover has a very unique cut-out. It is actually not a hole, the window is covered with transparent plastic, so you also don’t have to worry that your screen could get scratches. The windows is really special as you can view the time, incoming calls, messages and even receive phone calls without opening the front cover. Another great advantage of the cut-out is that when you flip it over, you still can take picture on the rear camera. However, the quality of images will be reduced because it must see through the plastic window.

Another minor disadvantage of this case is that it doesn’t have cut-out for the LED notification light, so you can’t see if you have missed calls or messages until you open the cover.

Although there are some minor downsides, the S-View Cover is a very interesting and beautiful case for Samsung Galaxy S4. Overall, this is a well-designed case, I’m just a little worried about the protection because the sides of my device are not protected at all.

Anyways, this is actually my favorite case among all Galaxy S4 cases I’ve reviewed here.
