Air purifiers have become an essential appliance for any household. I really can’t live without one nowadays, especially during the Spring season. Air purifiers can not only trap fine dust, harmful chemicals, but also pollen that could cause sore throat and runny nose. Most people won’t need a large and expensive air purifier, so the affordable Purivortex Vortex Mini 2 could be a better choice. Let’s check it out.

The Purivortex has a very compact and portable design; It is just a little bigger than my Apple HomePod speaker. I really like the handle on the back as it helps me carry the air purifier around easier. I prefer placing it up straight but you can also use the handle as a stand to lay it down.
There is no setup required to start using the product. Basically, I just need to take the filter out of its bag and plug the air purifier to a power outlet. All control buttons are placed on top, including a power button, a light switch, a fan speed button, and a timer. There are 3 speed settings for you to choose; I often use the air purifier on my desk or next to my bed, so I often set it at the lowest fan speed. It is good enough to clean the air while doesn’t make me aware of the fan noise.
The air purifier uses a 3-stage filtration system, including a pre-filter, an activated carbon filter and a true HEPA filter. This is the same filter found on many other air purifiers, so you can expect the same performance here. It can trap 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Due to the smaller size, the Vortex Mini 2 is suitable for small spaces of up to 215 sq ft.
The Purivortex has a warm LED light on top. Unfortunately, it is too bright to use as a nightlight and you can’t adjust the brightness.
All in all, the Purivortex Vortex Mini 2 delivers exactly what I expected. Its regular price is $39.99 but it went on sale sometimes for less than $30. If you can buy the air purifier at the discount, I totally recommend it.
