Knowledge is power: Understand CAD

By Tuan Do

Throughout human history, those societies which have tended to progress where others have stalled have done so by virtue of innovation and technology, however primitive.

Be it with the development of mathematics, the invention of the steam engine, the creation of the blast furnace or the ability to manufacture aeroplanes and automobiles – wars were not won on the battlefield, but in dusty studies, classrooms and workshops.

The same is true today when it comes to digital innovation. The countries which have invested a lot of time and money into the digital revolution are the ones that are forging ahead in the global marketplace.

Nowadays, devices requiring the use of extremely advanced technology are in the hands of everyday folk. But although everyday folk might be able to use computers, phones and other such objects, very few really understand how they actually work.

The real knowledge again rests in the hands of the few.

However, you can get hold of that knowledge. All it takes is a little training.

CAD-training

NTCADCAM offer CAD training to help users around the world get to grips with computer-aided design (CAD) programmes. CAD programmes are the new technological differentiator for businesses and individuals alike and will only become more important in the coming years.

Design is of course an absolutely vital part of the process, as it is the first step to be taken after the original conception of an idea. If you are a skilled CAD designer, you can go anywhere and do anything – the world is your oyster.

There are 14 different CAD design courses available to take up with NTCADCAM with each one capturing a key aspect of the design lifecycle:

CAD01: essentials part and assembly modelling course

CAD02: essentials drawing and detailing course

CAD03: file management course

CAD04: advanced part modelling and assembly modelling

CAD05: sheet metal and weldments course

CAD07: surface modelling course

CAD08: mould design course

CAD09: 2D schematics, 3D routing and cabling course

CAD10: routing – electrical cable and wiring course

CAD11: routing – piping and tubing course

CAD12: API fundamentals course

CAD13: productivity tools course

CAD14: certified DraftSight essentials course

DV1: DriveWorks administrator essential course

Other courses are offered within the fields of visualisation, data management and simulation for those who want to add even more strings to their bow.

This sort of knowledge doesn’t have to feel distant and unobtainable. Embrace it. Challenge yourself. Learn something new and make technology your servant instead of your master!
