iClever is among my favorite accessory brands since they release some decent products for an affordable price. The quality of their products is also dramatically improved recently. Today, we’re taking a look at a rugged wireless speaker, the iClever BoostSound BTS03.

Design & Features
The BTS03 might be the smallest and cheapest speaker in the iClever BoostSound series, but it is also the most rugged one. It features the IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, that means it is totally splashproof and has no ingress of dust. Moreover, the speaker feels very durable with the plastic and rubber exterior.
Obviously, the speaker is built for outdoor usage. You can easily bring it to the beach without worrying about any damage, just make sure not to submerge it in water. You even have a wristlet which is convenient to carry around, however, I wish they made it a little bigger or more flexible. It is not really easy to put it on my wrist.
The build quality of the BTS03 is quite amazing. Apart from the durable materials, it still uses metal front and back grilles. Therefore, the speaker feels sturdier and looks like an expensive product.
iClever put all controls on top of the speaker, including the power button, volume rocker/track skippers and play/pause button. There are 2 connections hidden under a rubber flap on the left side, you can find a 3.5mm auxiliary port and a microUSB charging port here.
The battery life of the speaker is just excellent. It is estimated at around 8 hours, so I just need to charge in once every 2 weeks.
Audio Quality
You shouldn’t expect much from an outdoor speaker, especially when it comes in a tiny size and has a low price tag. However, somehow the sound quality still surprised me. You can check out the sound test below.
iClever chose a very different approach when tuning the drivers. The bass is no longer overemphasized while the treble is a lot airier. Therefore, many people will enjoy the clear sound with good soundstage. The sound doesn’t have a boxy effect as found on other small speakers.
Of course, there are still many limitations like the weak bass and distortion. However, it is totally acceptable since it is not designed for critical listening sessions.
