Honeywell 02E PRO Floor Lamp Review – A Huge Upgrade For My Office

By Tuan Do

Finding the right lighting for my home office hadn’t been easy for me. I initially relied on a desk lamp, but it cluttered my workspace and cast uneven light, moreover, it can’t light up the whole room. So I removed it and depended solely on my ceiling light. While the ceiling light was fine for screen work, it was dim for reading or writing at night. I tried a few other floor lamps, but they were either too weak or looked cheap and out of place. I’ve always been drawn to the industrial aesthetic, and when Honeywell sent me the Honeywell 02E PRO floor lamp for this review, I was excited as this could be the perfect solution to transform my workspace.

Design & Build Quality

The Honeywell 02E PRO comes in 4 pieces and putting them together is extremely easy. Basically you just need to connect the parts and secure them with some bolts. They even provide a hex key wrench and gloves to make the work easier. The whole assembly process took me just about 5 minutes.

The lamp is about 6.5ft tall, it has a modern, rectangular light panel and clean lines that look like a street post lamp. Unlike the flimsy floor lamps tried before, this one feels much more professional. It fits perfectly in my room, neither overwhelming the space nor fading into the background. The lamp weighs 33 lbs and all parts are made of aluminum alloy and high-strength steel, with a U-shaped base to keep it steady, so the lamp is quite heavy and sturdy. The weight does make it a bit tricky to move, but it is not a problem since this lamp is supposed to stay in one place.

The lamp is straightforward to use, there are no buttons or smart features to complicate things. There’s just one knob to turn it on or off and adjust brightness, which ranges from a soft 10% to full 100%. The stepless dimming lets me fine-tune the light to suit my task. The only thing it doesn’t offer is color temperature adjustment, but honestly, the 4,000K setting is so perfect for me that I don’t miss it. It’s like having morning light on demand, and I’ve never felt the need to tweak it.

Lighting Performance

Light directs upwards

The Honeywell 02E PRO is a powerhouse with 10,400-lumen output, including 2,900 directed downward and 7,500 upward. This dual-light system uses ceiling reflection to spread light evenly across my office, solving the problem of my dim ceiling light. Now, my entire room is brightened up with natural light, and my desktop is finally usable for reading and writing at night. The light is crisp and clear, making everything easy to read without feeling harsh.

One of my biggest issues with my old desk lamp was the glare. The Honeywell is designed with eye-care in mind; It is equipped with micro-rhombus plate to disperse light and minimize glare. Besides, the full-spectrum LED chips emit no blue light or flicker, reducing eye strain at the same time. I can work for hours without the usual discomfort. The lamp’s high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 97+ also ensures that colors look true, which is a nice bonus when I review products. I even sometimes use it for photography and videos.

Final Thoughts

The Honeywell 02E PRO floor lamp has completely transformed my office. It frees up my desk, lights up the entire room, and looks fantastic doing it. I can finally work comfortably at any hour. Yes, it’s an investment at over $500 but if you need a fancy super-bright floor lamp for your living room or office, I highly recommend it as actually there are just a few quality options out there.
