A portable air compressor has become one of the most important devices in my car because of its convenience and versatility. It saves me a lot of time as I don’t need to go to a gas station to inflate my car tires, and it doesn’t take any effort to inflate tires of my bicycles. Design & Features
Out of the box, the GOOLOO is very compact, it comes with a carrying pouch, a short hose, a USB-C charging cable, and a variety of nozzles to fit different valve types. It’s small enough to tuck away in a glove compartment or a bicycle bag.
The build quality feels fairly solid and durable. The digital display is clear and easy to read, even in bright sunlight. The device doesn’t require any setup, you can just hold the power button for a few seconds to turn it on and start using it right away. With the display, you can see real-time tire pressure, track inflation progress through a dynamic rotating ring. You can also switch among 3 pressure units: PSI, BAR, and KPA. There are some presets for car, motorbike, bicycle, and basketball; You can also adjust the pressure manually per your need. Notably, there is an integrated LED light with normal and SOS mode which could come handy at times.
Performance
My primary usage for the compressor was for my cars. If you live in an area with fluctuating temperatures, this compressor is essential to maintain proper tire pressure.
Connecting the AP150 was simple. The screw-on valve connector felt secure, so there is no air leakage during attachment. I set the PSI on the display, press the power button, and the compressor starts working right away. The noise level is noticeable but it is the same noise as all other portable compressors.
The compressor boasts a maximum pressure of 150 PSI and 35L/Min of airflow. This rapid inflation might be very helpful in emergency scenarios. Its built-in 6,000mAh rechargeable battery offers up to 45 minutes of continuous use. This battery can also function as a power bank, charging devices via a USB-A output.
First, I tried inflating my Tesla’s tires from 36 to 42 PSI. It took just over 1.5 minutes and the auto-shutoff feature worked flawlessly, the device stops precisely at the set pressure, so you don’t need to constantly monitor the gauge. The compressor is not designed to inflate a completely flat tire in seconds; It is more suitable for topping off tires or handling minor leaks. The battery held up well; after inflating 4 car tires, the battery indicator still showed plenty of charge.
Next up were my bicycle tires. The AP150 PRO handled it with ease as I just needed to inflate the tires to 30PSI. Finally, I tested it on a basketball. This was perhaps the easiest task as the ball needs just 8PSI. Using the needle nozzle, the basketball was inflated to its optimal bounce in under 10 seconds.
