First Look at Zubie – Smart Maintenance Service for your Car

By Tuan Do

This post brought to you by Zubie. All opinions are 100% mine.

Buying a car in the U.S. is very affordable, however, the maintenance fees are extremely high. Each time I bring by car for regular maintenance, it easily costs me more than $500 although I don’t see any problem with my car at all.

Most car owners are not mechanical and know very little about their cars, that’s the reason why the auto repair centers could easily get more money from your pocket. When I heard about Zubie, I was very excited and curious how the device could make car maintenance easy and less expensive. If it is like advertised, this is truly a must-have gadget for car lovers, or any driver.

The Zubie is said to help us monitor our cars, diagnose repair issues and make daily driving a peace of mind. Basically, it is a small smart device that could plugin into a standard port in most cars, and all the information about your car will be transmitted to an app on your iPhone or Android.

Below are some primary features of Zubie:

  • Family Safety: Real-time location tracking of any member in your family. You will know when they arrive at home or school.
  • Problem alerts: It provides timely information about your car, such as engine problems, check engine light, dead battery and it also give you insight of the repair cost.
  • Safe Driving: The device will track your driving, you will be able to compete with others based on your driving score.
  • Trip Coordination: Share locations with your friends and simplify coordination on short trips.

Zubie will show you what’s going on with your vehicle so that you could save money on maintenance, get updated about your car’s health, and potential problems.

This is actually not just a smart device, it is more like a service and you will need to pay $99 per year. However, they are offering 20% on Zubie Key and one year of service in the holiday season. You can use code SAVE20DEC and SAVE 20%. Offer good through January 31, 2014. Shipping charges apply.
