Duxtop 9610LS / BT-200DZ Portable Induction Cooktop Review – The Best Seller

By Tuan Do

I’d been searching for a portable induction cooktop for cooking outdoors or making hot pot at home. After reading numerous reviews on Google and articles on the best induction cooktops on the market, I decided to go with the Duxtop 9610LS, one of the best selling products on Amazon. This is a popular choice among home chefs who seek a high-performing, efficient cooking solution.

Design and Functionality

The design of the Duxtop 9600LS is both compact and functional, making it an excellent fit for any space. Its dimensions, approximately 11.5 inches wide by 14 inches deep, allow it to be easily integrated into various kitchen setups without overcrowding the counter.

The user interface of the 9600LS is another highlight. It features a responsive, angled control panel that is easy to read and navigate. Users can choose to adjust the cooking settings either by power level or by temperature, with the former often providing more control over maintaining a steady simmer.

The Duxtop is packed with useful features that enhance its usability. It includes a 10-hour timer, boil and keep-warm settings, and a safety lock to prevent unintended changes to the heat setting. However, while these features add value, they also introduce complexity and might detract from the overall user experience, so I often just adjust the power level during cooking.

Performance and Efficiency

One of the key advantages of the Duxtop is its rapid heating capability, thanks to its 1,800 watts of power. It has the coil size of just about 6.5 inches but it can still quickly boil water or stock in a sauce pan in a few minutes – significantly quicker than my electric range. This feature is particularly useful for those with busy lifestyles or in situations where quick meal preparation is necessary.

The cooktop excels in gentle cooking as well; it perfectly fry my shrimp egg foo young to golden brown without the risk of charring. I also stir fry beef on a cast-iron skillet and really love how it beautifully browning the meat. The cooktop can handle almost all of my cooking tasks and save a lot of time as well.

Noise Level

A common drawback of induction cooktops is the high-pitched whine they can produce when used with certain types of cookware. The Duxtop does emit this noise but to a lesser extent compared to other models and I don’t feel annoyed at all. This makes it a better option for users who are particularly sensitive to such sounds.

Conclusion

The Duxtop 9600LS Portable Induction Cooktop is a great appliance that offers quick heating suitable for a wide range of cooking tasks. Its compact design and responsive control panel make it a practical choice for small kitchens. After testing it for a month, I can understand why it is among the best induction cooktops on the market.
