Asus Padfone Announcement at Computex 2011

By Tuan Do

The most discussed device recently, the Padfone, has just been announced at Computex 2011 by Asus. We have seen some pictures of Asus Padfone when they are leaked out and this appears to be a much anticipated product.

At the moment, Padfone is a concept device and we can see the real device in the near future. Maybe Asus wants to introduce its idea so that it could become the leader in smartphone/tablet hybrid. Then, specific tech specs of the device haven’t been announced yet because they could be change anytime in production. The concept device has a tablet with 10.1″ screen and a smartphone with 4.3″ screen.

The main purpose of Padfone is to satisfy demands of different users. When you are moving, you just need a phone with wireless connection. However, sometimes you will need a large screen to work comfortably. Padfone is the combination of smartphone and tablet and that will meet your needs.

Asus said that Padfone will be released this Christmas with the newest Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
