I’m still gaming on my PC and one of the most important accessories in the setup is a mechanical keyboard. I’ve tried many gaming keyboards and some of them even cost nearly $200.
Do we really need to spend that much for a keyboard or a cheap one is good enough? We’ve tested the affordable VicTsing PC175A mechanical keyboard to find the answer.

Design & Performance
The VicTsing PC175A is a full-size keyboard with a numpad on the right, however, it is fairly compact and I don’t have any problem reaching my mouse on the right. Although this is a low-priced product, it still has a wrist rest. Unfortunately, the wrist rest is not wide enough, so my wrist still stays on the desk most of the time. You might want to detach it and replace with a bigger one.
The lighting effect of the keyboard is not really eye-catching as it features a uniform red LED backlighting. You can switch between different lighting modes for gaming types. There are some presets for FPS, LOL, Call of Duty, NBA, or RTS games. In each of those modes, only some specific keys are lit up, as you can see in the demo above. An RGB lighting system could look better but it would cost a lot more as well. If you hardly look at your keyboard, this shouldn’t be your concern.
Another great feature of the VicTsing keyboard is water resistance. There are 4 drain holes on the keyboard, so it might survive accidental spills. I’m very surprised as the manufacturer cares about details in such an affordable product. Many more expensive keyboards don’t have this feature.
The most important feature of a mechanical keyboard is, of course, key switches. VicTsing uses Gaote/Outemu Red switches which are equivalent to Cherry MX Red. Those are linear switches with a low actuation force and silent typing sound. These are suitable for fast-action games as the keys have minimal resistance. Besides, you totally can play games at night without annoying your family members. They keycaps look really good with glossy sides and matte top surface. Besides, I also appreciate the N-Key rollover and 12 multimedia controls on the Function keys. I’ve tested the keyboard for about a month and I’m totally satisfied with its performance.
Overall, I don’t have any complaint about the product and I really think it is a good value for budget gamers.
