Typhur Dome 2 Review: The Air Fryer That Finally Gets Everything Right

By Tuan Do

After testing numerous air fryers over the last few years, I thought there was nothing they can be improved on. So, when the Typhur Dome 2 was announced at a very high price tag, I thought that this must be an overpriced product that has the same performance as a sub-$100 air fryer. I’ve used the oven for about a month and this is undoubtedly the best air fryer I’ve ever used.

Disclosure: We received the air fryer as a courtesy for review purposes. However, the review is intended to provide honest, unbiased insights about the product, based on personal experiences and observations.

Powerful Dual Heating

Most air fryers rely on a single heating element at the top, which can lead to uneven cooking, especially for thicker foods or larger batches. The Typhur Dome 2 is equipped with dual heating elements: one on top and one at the bottom. This setup creates a powerful heat flow that cooks food from both sides when necessary. Therefore, I sometimes don’t need to flip foods halfway through cooking.

The difference in cooking speed is amazing. For example, a full 12″ pizza that typically takes about 12–15 minutes in other air fryers or ovens is done in less than 10 minutes in the Dome 2. Moreover, the pizza comes out with a crispy crust and bubbling cheese that looks straight out of a pizza oven.

I also tried french and chicken wings; the dual heat cuts through cooking time while preserving texture. Fries turn out crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and wings develop that golden crunch without drying on the inside. An advantage of the system is that the bottom element provides direct heat, so it prevents sogginess and ensures an even crisp.

A Spacious Basket

The other big win for me is the large cooking basket. Most air fryers claim to have a large capacity, but the usable space often feels smaller because their baskets are often very high. The Typhur Dome 2 feels like a dome inside. You can fit a whole 12-inch pizza in it, which is impossible with almost all air fryers on the market.

I even tested it with the large Costco cheese pizza, and it almost fit. I had to trim the edge slightly. Still, the fact that I could nearly fit that massive pizza is impressive. This is useful for everyday meals when you need to cook foods for your whole family. I can easily fit chicken wings, 2 steaks, or enough fries for the whole family in one batch. No need to cook in multiple rounds anymore. It handles large portions effortlessly, so it doesn’t have problems reheating leftovers or cooking dinner for my family of 4 people.

PFAS-Free Ceramic Coating

One of my biggest frustrations with air fryers has been the non-stick coating issue. Most models use Teflon or similar coatings that contain PFAS, which can break down over time and potentially pose health risks. It was nearly impossible to find an air fryer that avoided those materials without compromising on non-stick performance.

I was so happy when knowing that the Typhur Dome 2 uses a ceramic non-stick coating which is completely free of PFAS. This was honestly one of the main reasons I decided to try it. Not only do I feel safer using it, but the coating itself is incredibly effective. Food slides right off, cleanup is easy, and there’s no sticky residue or flaking after I used it heavily for about a month.

The Perfect Cooking Experience

Another surprise is the noise level during operation. Air fryers are usually loud due to the powerful fan but this one operates almost silently. There are times I have to double-check whether it’s even running because I can barely hear it, especially when the fan cycles off between heat phases.

The product comes with an app that allows you to track cooking time and get access to some more presets like bake, roast, fries, frozen, etc. However, I don’t really use the app and it is unnecessary for my daily use.

The controls on the front are enough as they are responsive and intuitive, and there’s virtually no learning curve. Notice that the air fryer only preheats in some modes like Pizza and Steak. There is no dedicated preheat setting as Typhur finds it unnecessary for most dishes. That seems to be correct as I cooked most dishes as suggested, they came out really good. French fries come out golden and crispy, never soggy or overdone. Chicken wings are evenly cooked with a crunch outside and juicy tenderness inside. Steak sears beautifully with crust and remains juicy in the center, even though I still had to flip it once. Pizza is my favorite as it cooks evenly from edge to edge with crisp crusts. For the first time, I can enjoy fresh or frozen pizza at home with such a compact cooking appliance.

Conclusion

The Typhur Dome 2 is simply the best air fryer I’ve ever used. It’s faster, quieter, safer, and more capable than any I’ve used before. We at TechWalls highly recommend the product. Its original price tag is $500 but it is available for less than $350 at Home Depot now.
