After a long wait, Twitter Music has finally arrive and working awesome. Twitter Music is available to all and free to use. The #music hashtag is indeed a thing and not just a sign. It means that Twitter Music follows the activities including tweets and other stuff to sort out the most popular tracks and most emerging tracks etc.
Currently, iOS users from USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia can download the Twitter Music app from the Apple store or alternatively people can access it over music.twitter.com. Twitter Music for other countries and for Android as well is still in progress. “Twitter and music go great together,” Twitter said in its blog post.
This is one of the biggest services ever launched by a social networking site, offering all the stuff related to music for free.
There were also news that Twitter might be using SoundCloud services to host music on its new Twitter Music website but the final version shows that Twitter is using iTunes, Spotify and Rdio as their music sources.
By default, the page shows previews from the Apple iTunes store whereas people who have subscribed to Spotify or Rdio can login to their respective accounts to listen to all the music tracks available through them. These are not the final music services from Twitter as the company later stated that it will add more music sources as the time progresses.
Design Features of the Twitter Music App
Twitter Music app gives user a lot of options to play with. There is a menu from which user can set the trend of the tracks shown on the screen. There is #NowPlaying showing which of the songs are being played by most people. Then there is Suggested tab that shows the songs suggested according to your taste. Of course the Popular Tab will give you a sneak peak on which songs are the most popular in ratings and are trending on Twitter. The last tab of Profile which shows the list of artists you are following.
This move from Twitter will surely help them in laying a strong foundation for their new services. Besides that, Twitter’s music will work from iTunes, means that at the end, user will be redirected to iTunes to buy songs. Twitter Music has arrived and is ready to make an impact in the music world.
