Sony LCS-U30 Soft Carrying Case for Camcorder Review

By Tuan Do

As I’m using the Sony FDR-AX100 camcorder, I have to look for a carrying case so that my camcorder is protected and I can bring it anywhere. I decided to buy the Sony LCS-U30 because that’s what Sony suggested on the outside of the camcorder box.

Overview Video

Design and Quality

My first impression is that the bag is very well made and its build quality is among the best of all camera bags I’ve ever used.

It has a front zip pocket and two more pockets on the sides. The front pocket is quite wide and includes two mesh pouches, so it is suitable to store small stuff like charger or battery.

The main compartment is quite spacious and I love that it fits my Sony FDR-AX100 perfectly. There are still more spaces on sides and on the top. Of course, I have to remove the adjustable internal partition to place my camcorder inside. If you are using a DSLR, those padded dividers will be very helpful as you can store and separate your camera from accessories like batteries or lenses.

There is a flap under the lid. By pulling it out, you will see 2 more mesh pouches underneath. You can use those pouches to keep your memory cards.

The pictures above don’t show the padded shoulder strap because I attached it afterwards. I carry my camcorder for hours last weekend and I really appreciate how comfortable it is.

I love this case and I believe I will keep using it for a very long time.
