SCREENMAX Pull-Up 80-inch Projector Screen Review – Good For Indoors and Outdoors?

By Tuan Do

I’d been looking for a projector screen for indoors and outdoors use; After many considerations, I ended up with the SCREENMAX Pull-Up 80-inch Projector Screen and I’m still quite satisfied with this choice.

I chose the pull-up projector screen instead of a foldable one primarily because it ensures a consistently wrinkle-free viewing surface. Foldable screens can develop creases easily while the pull-up design maintains its flatness and rigidity effortlessly. This is important for distortion-free projection, besides, it is more convenient and easier to setup.

The screen comes with a carrying bag, making it easy to transport and store. Thanks to its portable floor stand and an intuitive pull-up design, the SCREENMAX screen can be assembled in just minutes. The process involves unfolding the tripod, fixing the bottom of the screen, and then extending and locking the telescopic rod.

With a gain value of up to 1.8, the screen enhances image brightness and contrast remarkably, making it perfect for enjoying vibrant, high-definition content. The thick, non-transparent, wrinkle-free fiberglass material offers a consistently smooth projection surface and effectively blocks unwanted light transmission.

Measuring 80 inches with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the screen provides an optimal display size for my home and backyard. It works exceptionally well and the sturdy build ensures stability during use. Notably, the height-adjustable feature allows you to position the screen for a clear line of sight, eliminating potential obstructions. The height of the screen can be adjusted from 5.2ft to 7.8ft.

The stand is sturdy but it is not designed to withstand strong winds and may become unstable, increasing the risk of the screen tipping over. This could not only damage the screen itself but also potentially cause injury. For safety and the best results, it’s recommended to use the screen in calm weather.

Overall, the SCREENMAX Pull-Up Projector Screen delivers exceptional value. I bought it for less than $90 and can’t be happier with the purchase.
