FitDesk Sit-to-Stand Height Adjustable Desk Review

By Tuan Do

FitDesk is a brand well-known for stationary bike desks that we had a chance to review on TechWalls. Now, they’ve released another product that could lead to a healthier lifestyle. Let’s check out the FitDesk Sit-to-Stand Height Adjustable Desk.

Unboxing & Testing

Design & Features

The product comes in a few pieces and it is extremely easy to put them together. It took me just about 20 minutes to assemble the desk and all the tools are provided.

The FitDesk desk comes in an all-white look, including the table top, the tray, the leg, and the base. The build quality of the desk is quite amazing, it feels very solid and heavy. The total weight of the desk is 48 lbs, most comes from the metal frame.

I really love this desk because the design is well-thought and they care about tiny details that are often ignored on other products. For instance, there are a cord-management tray and an access panel on the back, so you can hide cords and power adapter of your laptop. Besides, you can find built-in wheels and leveling adjusters on the bottom, that means you can easily move the desk and adjust it.

The table top is not spacious but it is big enough to hold even the biggest laptops. I tried placing my MacBook Pro 15 and Asus ROG gaming laptop on it and there is still a lot of space around. Specifically, the surface measures 30.7″ x 22.8″.

The best feature of the desk is adjustable height. You can change the height from 29.4″ up to 47.9″, that means you can switch between sitting to standing while working. To raise or lower the height, you just need to hold the top with 2 hands, press the handle below the desk, then adjust to your desired height. It is quite effortlessly to raise the desk top but you will need to press it a little harder to lower the top. It uses gas cylinders that are similar to your office chairs.

Overall, the FitDesk sit-to-stand desk is a very high-quality product. However, its price is unjustifiable at the moment. Many bigger motorized standing desks like the Autonomous SmartDesk cost just a little more. We recommend the product only when you can find it on sale for around $150.
