BenQ e-Reading Lamp Floor Stand Extension Review – A Must-Have Accessory

By Tuan Do

Not long ago, I reviewed the BenQ e-Reading desk lamp and that’s still among my favorite products till now. However, the product is not for everyone since this is a very big and bulky lamp. It has a very big and heavy base, so it takes a large area on my desk. Therefore, it is not ideal to use this as a desk lamp, except that you have a large workspace.

Fortunately, there is an accessory to turn it into a floor lamp, let’s check out the BenQ floor stand extension.

Unboxing & Assembly

Inside the box, we have a base, a mounting pole, screws, plastic feet, and a wrench. Putting them together is straightforward as you can see in the video above.

The whole stand is made of metal, so it is very heavy and sturdy. I really appreciate that the stand has the same premium build quality as seen on the BenQ desk lamp. After putting the lamp body on top of the stand, it is turned into a floor lamp with the height of around 3’3″ (160cm) in normal position.

The only problem is that the lamp wobbles a little when I touch it to turn it on/off. This is caused by the long poles connecting to each other, however, this is a minor issue and it’s totally acceptable. The whole product still feels very sturdy.

Overall, the floor stand extension is a very useful accessory and I am no longer using the included base. So, this is a waste of money if you have to purchase the lamp and the floor stand separately, then leave the desk base unused. I really hope that BenQ will sell this as a floor lamp soon.

In case you want to buy the floor stand extension, we have a special promo code to save 30% off its retail price. Just use the code BENQ30FF during checkout on Amazon.
