ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Official Travel Cover Review

By Tuan Do

The new Nexus 7 2013 has just been released this summer and I really enjoy using the great tablet. Therefore, I don’t want it to receive any unwanted damaged and the best solution is using a case.

Although the new Nexus 7 is much lighter and slimmer than its original version, it still can easily slip out of your hand. When I look for a case, my priority is always the official case from manufacturer because they know best about their devices. And ASUS has its official travel cover for the Nexus 7 2013 as well. Let’s check it out if the product is really good for your tablet.

First, take a look at our unboxing video and how I applied the case to Nexus 7 tablet.

The case is made from very light material, it is some kind of rubber or soft plastic. I’m quite disappointed with the case as it doesn’t make the tablet more sturdy. As you can see, the cover is very flimsy, it even can’t hold the edges of tablets firmly. The tablet looks very loose inside the case and I think it can fall out anytime, especially when I fold back the front cover.

One more downside of the case is that it doesn’t include built-in magnet for sleep/wake funtion. So, it can’t wake or turn off the screen automatically when you open or close the front cover. This is so inconvenient in my opinion.

The only good feature I can find on this case is its slim design. The case has some color choices and it won’t add significant bulk to your device.

The case is available on MobileFun for around $40 but I won’t recommend this case. It is so horribly made.
