How I Make $25 Just By Sending An Email

By Keffer

Do you remember all those articles you read over the years?

The ones telling you to “build an email list?”

Most of you haven’t taken them seriously, and would rather garner some organic traffic by doing keyword research than spending a bunch of time creating an opt-in form.

And that is the only reason you can’t make $25 just by sending an email.

I own a blog that provides reviews of applications for children with autism. As you can imagine, this is a service that is in high demand, due to the number of families struggling with ASD. What I have done for this site is, instead of focusing on organic traffic, I have focused on gathering the most targeted audience that I can.

Almost every single person who visits my website is the parent or guardian of someone affected by autism, and all of these people have something that I want.

App reviews.

Let me tell you what advertisers care about: purchases. Let me tell you what advertisers don’t care about: your traffic numbers. As someone trying to promote their product, the only reason I would ask you how many visitors you get is to try to guess how many purchases I will get out of a deal, and it it’s worth it for me.

With an email list, if you do it right, you can end up making hundreds of dollars off of a single email blast. Of course, I am not at this level of subscribers, but I can still make $25 from an email with only 350 subscribers. How? They are all part of a targeted audience, and my numbers can prove it.

When you own a good email list, it could be like a money printer.

When you tell an advertiser that your audience is very “targeted,” that doesn’t mean much to them. They are not bloggers. What you need to tell them is that your audience loves to click on links to apps, and they will fall at your feet. Here’s the general form email that I use to get that $25 from app developers.

Hi App Developer,

Autism Plugged In, the top site for reviewing apps for children with autism, would love to review your app! For a review published on our site, a special feature email to our subscribers via the site’s newsletter, and promotion via our Facebook and Twitter channels, we charge a fee of $25. This money goes to benefit OAR, the Organization for Autism Research, as all profits are donated!

Autism Plugged In has Click-Through-Rates (CTR) much higher than many other app review blogs, but that’s because my readers really care about those affected by autism and, as a result, are a very targeted audience.

What I’m offering is a review of your app published on Autism Plugged In AND also featured in an exclusive email via my newsletter. Autism Plugged In’s email subscriber base has grown substantially, and now has 350 readers, all of which filled out an opt-in form on the site, giving their email address in return for updates and the latest on autism apps.

Each broadcast that I send out to my readers (I do this about once each week) lands in their inbox, and my emails have an average open rate of about 54%. (The lowest I have ever had is 51%, the highest over 70%). The broadcasts also have an average click through rate of about 13%.

The average open rate for all MailChimp users (the biggest newsletter service on the internet) is only around 20%, much lower than that of API, and the average click through rate is only 2-3% of recipients! That means that our open rate is nearly triple the average percentage, and that our click through rate is five times that of the average percentage! (You may check the links below to make sure that I am not just making up numbers.)

In return for access to an extremely targeted audience, we request a fee of $25. And, as you probably know, all profits from Autism Plugged In are donated to OAR, so I’m not lining my pockets :) In fact, you can check out an article written by OAR about our continuing contribution to autism research here.

Please know that this app review service does not guarantee a positive nor a negative app review, but an honest review.

This offer connects you, the developer, with an engaged audience who have a specific need that you can fulfill!

Let’s work together to help our friends affected by autism.

Thanks,

Jack Kieffer – Founder

See how that works? The fact that I’m donating the money is just icing on the cake. I can almost guarantee you that if you sent an email like this to your niche’s advertisers, and had numbers like mine that prove your audience is targeted, you would be raking in the cash in no time!

So, now are you ready to take email lists seriously?
